Circa 1973(?)
What to gather:
4 pork chops
1 can pineapple chunks
1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup Karo Light Corn Syrup
lemon
3 Tblspoons ketchup
2 Tblspoons soy sauce
salt
pepper
2 Tblspoons butter
What to do:
In skillet melt butter over medium heat
add chops, cook for 20 minutes (until tender)
Remove chops from pain and drain off fat. Keep warm
In skillet, stir in pineapple chunks+juice, ketchup, corn syrup, 1/3 cup lemon juice, soy sauce.
Reduce for 25 minutes, or until reduced by half.
Serve with noodles and rice.

AH, I love this blast from the past! I have a Swedish meatball recipe that is from the cookbook my grandma gave my mom when she moved out of the house. It’s so old, but so good.
It must be so good to have such tangible memories of your grandma and her cooking. While both my grandmothers are still alive and cooking, my great-grandmother left us only the memories of her cooking, with nothing written down. I think that’s part of the reason that I love food blogging – it’s as permanent a record as I can get of what I’ve learned to cook over the years from the fabulous women in my life
